Saturday, February 6 th (11-1) South end of the Warren Avenue Bridge RALLY RALLY RALLY. Join us for one final push for the school Levy! Voting is by mail only due by February 9 th.
We need this school levy to be renewed . The district needs the funding. We cannot afford to loose 20% of our operating budget. We are already faced with a deficit and this upcoming year's budget must be cut by at least a million dollars. That's a fraction of the money we're faced with loosing if this levy doesn't have the support it needs and deserves. Please join us… WE need your help to show our support. THIS IS A RENEWAL, NOT NEW TAXES!!!

Washington State PTA Essay Contest
All entries must be postmarked by February 1, 2010.
Greetings:
It is my extreme pleasure to announce the Washington State PTA 2009/2010 Men's Essay Contest! Attached is the official entry/registration form. I encourage you to make copies of this and distribute it to your students, encouraging them to participate.
**ALL SCHOOLS ARE ELIGIBLE TO PARTICIPATE IN THIS CONTEST. IT IS NOT NECESSARY THAT YOUR SCHOOL BE AFFILIATED WITH PTA IN ORDER TO PARTICIPATE**
Children benefit from positive male involvement in their lives. Research by the National Center for Education Statistics indicates that this is true even when a child's mother is already involved in the school. A father's involvement “exerts a distinct and independent influence” on a child's success.
This essay contest is a great outlet to allow children to not only exercise their creativity, spelling, grammar and sentence structure skills, but it offers them the opportunity to share with others something special about that man who has impacted their life in a positive way. Whether it is a Dad, teacher, uncle. brother, clergy, or someone else who is special; this essay contest affords our children the chance to proclaim, out loud, "You matter! Thank you for being so special."
Please be sure to read the entry form for important deadlines and rules.....oh, those rules! If you have any questions, you can feel free to contact me at this email or by phone: (509) 216-9697.
Good luck to everyone out there! I'm eager to see the entries!
